On the move

Today we start our summer cruising!
A few pictures before we go mainly of our feathered friends who've visited us in the past few days ...
We chanced on this bird as we were returning to Still Rockin' one day ... he'd caught the fish and was just about to start eating it when we surprised him and he flew away.  I rather like the picture!

I bought a suet feeder in half a coconut and it was fun to watch the larger birds trying to eat from it ...

... every time he got near it with his beak it moved away from him!
The Woodpecker managed it a bit better
The resident Kingfisher taking a rest

The Pheasant didn't think much of the Mallard in his space
... and this Robin is not only a ground feeder
The Nuthatch is very versatile!
On my walk the other day I passed this field full of various chickens ... the trees surrounding the field was full of Red Kites ... I wonder why?

On my return I checked on Molly's Holly and all seems to be good.
Last job to do before we go ... George is putting the wiring in for
... my cooker hood.
First stop on our summer cruise will be Bourne End to spend some time with you know who!

I guess the new cooker hood will be seriously put to the test if George has to BBQ indoors ;)

Hope that you enjoy your cruising this year and that the weather is kind to you :)

10/10 for the Kingfisher photo
