Build day 61

The engine is out of the box ...
 ... and George can’t resist a look ...
 ... WOW!
and a delivery of another sort - some furniture - this is the bit I’m enjoying, can’t wait to get it unpacked and onboard.

Better tell George not to start playing with that engine yet!

Hi, I hope you have recorded all the numbers? That is, engine model, serial, belts, alternator/s, gearbox, filters, etc. Easier to gather them now, then stand on your head, bent like a pipe cleaner, with a torch being held in your mouth that has half flat batteries. With the numbers of original equipment held, you may be able to cross reference them with another manufacturer or supplier for the necessary belts, filters and the like later. They always have a 'bugga' moment when you are in an awkward position on the water, far from ready assistance. Just my thoughts. John Ray, Perth, West Australia.

Hi both, although his fingers are itching to do just that he’s been very restrained up to yet!

Thank you John for your thoughts,

Great minds think alike - that is exactly George’s job this morning to take all those details especially for the belts. There is a garage we know in Rugeley from where we purchase all our belts at a fraction of the ‘genuine article’s’ cost and always keep a couple of spares of each one as we’ve been in that position when one is required mid channel!
