Build day 95 and a slipped disk

Thursday

Foam insulation is in and needs until next week to cure properly before anything else can  be done.  We need now to purchase the insulation for the floor which will be laid over the brick ballast and then the floorboards can go in.

As for the slipped disk … no, it wasn't George when he helped with the ballast, it was Molly!  We don't know how or when it happened but the vet blames it on the fact that she is more than 30 human years old and these things happen!!  He gave her a morphine shot and she's on Metacam twice daily now.  She's supposed to have complete rest for at least 5 days but as all you dog owners know, that's all but impossible.  She's feeling much better today and it's a bit difficult telling her or trying to prevent her from playing with her toys.

We had a problem with her a few weeks ago too again not too sure of what the problem was but maybe a pulled muscle in her neck when the vet again gave her morphine for the pain and prescribed Metacam.  Once she's really better we'll need to gradually build up her strength once again to try to prevent anything similar happening again.

Lovely to see the progress, especially the next bit! I hope Molly makes a good recovery and stays pain free...you are going to have to watch her of steps and stairs.

Hiya both
Boat's looking good, I hope the foamy man got both sides of the roof beams, he missed some of ours! Sorry to read about Molly, I know what you mean about keeping them quiet, Meg is feeling well enough to chase squirrels again, if I'd let her!

Hi Brian & Diana, I checked, 25mm is the industry standard. Ours has a minimum of 25mm, in some areas it is more than that. The important thing is, there are no gaps in the coverage.

It has been really difficult keeping her down on the floor and stopping her from shaking seven shades out of her toys, but we seem to have managed and her back is ok now. However, see the new blog for an update, it seems she is having a spell of bad luck!!

Hi Geoff & Mags, the foamy man got into all the little nooks and crannies. It was good to catch up on your news by phone yesterday, we will keep an eye on you along the cut!
