Visiting the royals

Stunning views at 06:30 yesterday morning ...

... as I made the early morning cuppa ...

... before we set off at 8:30 in the drizzly rain ...
 ... from Runneymead

where there are some beautiful ...

... and unusual homes.

Just two locks today the first being Old Windsor Lock with its friendly keeper and his siamese cat ...

Sue and Vic on No Problem are close behind us

Albert Bridge where the royal home park starts

In the pouring rain nb No Problems pulls into Kris Cruisers for fuel and water ...

... and we carry on passing some lovely boats on the way
I just love this property on Home Park and wonder who lives there?

Our first glimpse of Windsor Castle but no royal standard flying today - the queen is not in residence!

Victoria Bridge bearing the royal coat of arms on the piers
Eton in the distance through the rain

Waiting for the gates to close at Romney Lock with its beautifully kept gardens
It’s still raining cats and dogs as we arrive in Windsor and find a mooring on Baths Island.
Today has been sunny and warm and we’ve had a touch of retail therapy this morning
Windsor Castle over the roof tops - perfect!

... and back to our mooring with No Problem behind us and lovely ...
... wide water all around us.
We love it and to make things even better, we’re out for a meal this evening!

Plenty of good places to eat in Windsor, but where did you go? I always moor at Baths Island when I visit my daughter who lives there. Just on my way back to the Wey from Liverpool, via Banbury Canal Day.

Hi Ray, we had a lovely evening - we went to the Christopher Hotel in Eton and the food was lovely, made even better by Sue (no problem) dog sitting for us as well as using a taste-card discount! Good to hear from you.
