Early yesterday morning ...
... leaving our mooring in the sunshine ...
... Home Park Lock, 2nd of the day ...
... under the 4-lane carpark M25 north orbital
A small lizard hitching’ a ride!
Hunton Bridge Lock ...
... had two lock cottages
... and very pretty but awkwardly placed bridge a few minutes after it!
I’m lock-wheeling again today ... George bringing Still Rockin’ into Lady Capel’s Lock at 9:15
(poor quality picture taken with my phone into the sun)
The lovely turn-over bridge (163) that takes the towing path to the other side of the canal without having to unhitch the horse (in the olden days that is) ...
As Adam on Briar Rose pointed out the vegetation by Grove Bridge now restricts the approach
... two photos below of the same approach ...
in September 2009 ...
... and April 2011
both on
I love this view as we take a sharp left to pass Grove Mill ...
... now rather expensive appartments.
I’ve tried to find out more about the mill(s) but can only find a mention here about the big house (now a hotel)
Lock 76 at Charlotte’s Vale - we were going to moor below here but all the slots were taken, no worries though, down one more (that’s 9 today) ...
... and here we are moored up at 10:45.
Chores done, lunch eaten and time for a walk at one of our very favourite places ...
Cassiobury Park - I could wander around looking at these mighty trees for hours ....
... I wish they could tell me their stories!
This made us smile!
Just sitting. looking and listening ... happy, happy, happy!

I see you found Cassiobury Park a lot easier in the boat than the car... ;) LOL
Hi Kevin, we certainly did, it’s a good job the canal has no round-a-bouts!
Hey, Snap! Twice!
