A chilly start ...

... just before 7 this morning as we left our mooring at Batchworth to the first of just three locks today ...

Stoker’s Lock with its neat lock cottage ...

... and what appears to be a rather nice BW/CRT property by the bridge

Just past Springwell Lock is ...

... bridge 176a beyond which is the River Colne and some large gravel lakes; a caution sign is displayed warning of possible strong currents

More wide beams than you can shake a stick at down here and when they’re breasted to a narrowboat and another moored on the other side the passage tests the helmsman’s skills and George’s skills are second to none!

Cute!

Still Rockin’ descending  Copper Mill Lock ...

... looking down the pound towards the Coy Carp Inn ...

... there are always strong currents flowing across the canal here especially after heavy rain
It wasn’t too bad today

By half past eight we’d done for the day and moored up just around the corner from the lock ...

Last time we were moored here, we were with Sue and Vic in April 2011

We had some amazing storms in the afternoon ...

Spectacular!!
