A busy morning

Not too early and not too chilly this morning
as we left Denham Deep ...

... passing Tug Columba ...

... to the first of just two locks today ...

... there's a strong flow coming from below Uxbridge Lock ...

... and we also passing Butty Cygnus’ mooring

Cooo, will he get through?  We’ve pulled over for him ...

... loads of room!

Uxbridge Boat Centre was really busy this morning but they worked around us - literally!
They craned this boat out ...

... and put it back into the water just a metre or so in front of us ...

... the boat that we’re tied up to is waiting to be craned out and there’s a chap on the opposite bank waiting for the dry dock which is at right angles to that covered barge behind us! ...

... and the boat now tied to us is also being lifted out today.
We were serviced first, fuel, gas and engine spares so that they could get on ...

... and now we were faced with a long lines of moored boats on both sides of the canal.

Cowley Lock sanitary station and we’re moored above the lock in front of another wide beam so it was one at a time out of the lock coming up ...

... all the relevant tanks filled and emptied we’re on our way again, but not far at all, we’ve found a spot on the towpath just before the Slough Arm

Putting the stern deck to rights ... this is the first ladybird I’ve seen this year!

Not a wonderful view I know but you can’t have it all all the time!

And to round a good day off, Linda has been in touch with me to say that they’ve arrived at Packet Boat Marina so we’ve invited her and Richard onboard for drinks this evening ... we’re looking forward to meeting them.
