We thought we’d have an early start yesterday morning but two things slowed us down, the first being that I didn’t get out of bed early enough and when we were finally ready we had to wait for diesel at ...
Denham Marina because it was so busy. Well worth waiting for though as the diesel is 52ppl (that’s 8ppl cheaper than the local fuel boat) and after taking on 230 litres the difference is significant indeed. We also purchased gas bottle, coal and 15/40 oil also at good prices.
Just three locks to ascend, this one being the second, Denham Deep where George is chatting to a single hander waiting to go down.
We had lunch on the go and were moored up above Black Jack Lock by 2pm
A very descent mooring for the weekend.
Update … nearly forgot … whilst clearing the rear deck of all the items purchased this morning a couple stopped by Still Rockin’ and said that they follow the blog and of course we had a chat. It was Debbie and Phil from nb Tom Kitten which is moored on the right in the picture above. It was good to meet you both, whenever you see us in this area please don’t hesitate to knock and come in for a cuppa.

Hi Carole and George, If it's a lovely day, go for a walk up the hill across Black Jack's lock and go to the Old Orchard pub - it's a great place with lovely food and beautiful views out across those man-made lakes. Say hi to the chardonnay for me ...
Big hugs, Marilyn xox
