Long lines of parked cars outside our mooring on Sunday morning, what’s going on? I found out on the internet that the Henley half -marathon is being held today
… and the leaders are well on the way to the finish line
… and there’s lots more hurrying runners on the way
Later there are others hurrying on the river this time
I love these pictures taken into the sun, they make the water sparkle
No hurrying for these rowers though, that’s more my sort of speed!
[Edit: Molly took part in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant]
{Built in 2003, Molly is a replica of the type of working craft which were formerly used for catching whales and is thought to be the only one in Europe. She was finished at Henwood and Dean and is described as “seaworthy, rugged and safe”. Skipper Paul Waterman said: “We are tickled pink to be taking part in the pageant. It is a big deal for all the members of the club.” Paul Sermon, from Remenham, owns two boats that have been selected to sail in the pageant. }
