Sad news I’m afraid.
Yesterday Geoff Wade (Narrowboat Seyella) contacted me with the very sad news that Margaret (Mags) had died peacefully at home that morning.
Margaret had two wishes before she died; one to live to 100 and two to receive a message from the Queen. She celebrated her 100th birthday on 21st September so she got her first wish; unfortunately the message she received was of course not from the late Queen but from the King.
George and I went to join her and Geoff and lots of Margaret’s family to wish her a Happy Birthday and although she slept through most of the noise she did manage her ‘royal wave’ when we sang Happy Birthday.
There will not be a formal funeral but there will be a Celebration of Margaret’s Life in a few weeks time probably in Ingleborough. If you need any information re contacting Geoff or details of the celebration please let me know.
