A few days in Sonning ...

High winds on Saturday (17th August) caused the Silver Birches opposite to show their undersides, creating feathery light
Mid-afternoon we took a walk along the towpath
where The Country Punk Kin Pizza Boat was setting up for business, and we testing their wares in the evening ... excellent!
By the Blue Coat School, a wedding party waited ... but no bride and groom in sight
We sat for a while to take in the peace and beauty of St Andrew's Church
and partook of a glass of wine at The Bull which has a very interesting history
Walking home passing Sonning Lock ...
and a glimpse of Still Rockin' ...
in her snug mooring.

We sat on the deck in the late afternoon ... people watching ...
This colourful gaggle of people in inflatables having fun leisurely floating downstream
and not so leisurely paddle boarding too
The sun going down and 7:40 on Sunday evening.

A very pleasant weekend ...
we will stay here one more day as the forecast is for more heavy rain and gusting winds.
