... that's what we were on Thursday (30th August), a Tesco delivery and people to see, places to go ...
and yesterday not too early, just as we were preparing to leave Ali and John pulled in so we had a chat with them about the condition of the canals etc., they're only on the Thames for a week and are now heading back to Dukes cut. It was good to see them again, the last time was not far from here (Goring) last year.
We were soon cruising, downstream again now ...
back to the same mooring at Beale Park ...
as we had after the Bank Holiday weekend ...
Sunset at 7:30 last night
and at 8:30.
An early bed too as we'll be up pretty sharpish in the morning ...
06:24 this morning (Saturday 1st September) and we're on the move again ...
albeit only about a mile
The LNB in our satellite dish gave up the ghost last week (a new one is on order) and we couldn't get a TV signal on our Freeview aerials
so our mooring last night was on the meadow where we knew we could pick up that signal ...
but today we're picking up visitors for the weekend and need to be a bit closer to the pick-up point
As you will have noticed, it's a bit misty
That's the mooring we want ... the sleeping swan's going to have a rude awakening in a minute!
By 7:15 we were back in bed with a cuppa ... the reason we moved so early? We know there's going to be a big fishing match today and it'll be bad enough having to move off during the match let alone arrive, moor up and then move off as well. Just hope we don't upset the anglers too much.
