What ... no pictures?

Don't fret ... that was only on Thursday (16th August) that I didn't take any!  I think we were all (NP,WaL and us) a little tired and perhaps hung over from yesterday's wonderful outing, cocktails and last evening's meal at the pub.

We woke up to heavy rain but it cleared by lunch time when everyone came on to Still Rockin' for lunch after which George had jobs to do ... fix a gas leak on What a Lark and tighten a fan belt on No Problem.

Work done, no time to relax ... it's time for coffee and cake round at Sue and Vic's ... that's home made scones and cake ... delicious Sue, thank you.

Friday dawned clear and bright but a bit cooler than of late ...
Lisa had invited a narrowboat to breast up with What a Lark late yesterday afternoon, there being no mooring spaces available and at 8 am this morning the occupants cast off their ropes so that Lisa and David can  ...
continue on their Thames cruise ...
 winding ...
and away they go upstream ... enjoy the rest of your time on the Thames and hopefully we'll meet up again in October ... fingers crossed!
An hour or so later it was Sue and Vic's turn to leave Wallingford ...
they're heading downstream and we'll catch up with them after the weekend.  We're spending it here in Wallingford as we're killing time at the moment and had a quiet day reading and blogging.
Paddle boarders seen late afternoon ...
The little dog seemed quite at home on the board.

Saturday (18th) we walked into town via the castle see here for photos of when we first discovered just last year that Wallingford actually had a castle!

Once the shopping was done and we were walking home, there was a bit of a cafuffel at the bridge ...
a horse and cart came down through the town and was held up by the traffic lights at the bridge ...
then two more appeared ... the middle horse was a bit nervous and had held up the traffic on the other side creating a bit of a jam ...
on both carriageways ... the lights changed and more cars joined the confusion!

We left them to sort themselves out and had reached Still Rockin' five minutes later before we heard and saw the three of them crossing the bridge.  George saw them later all camped on the meadow below Wallingford Bridge.

Sunday was a late start ... I popped to the shops for bread whilst George opened up the engine bay to do a 250 hour service ...
Oil caught after the oil filter has been changed ...
putting the new oil filter on ...
the perfect level ...
this service being the 8th at 2,000 hours since 2014 ... what a difference having solar panels make!
Whilst I was watching the engine service I heard and saw two of the horse and carts passing over the bridge ... just under the red umbrella above ...
and I could hear the third horse whinnying; he was still tethered on the meadow and was missing his friends, I hoped they'd be back soon.

We shall be on the move again tomorrow.
