An interesting walk with Sue ...

Promise of a fine day on Saturday (11th August) at 07:30 ...
with temperatures just right for a walk with Sue and the pack ...
It was 20 past 11 before we set off over the meadow ...

It wasn't long until we reached this quarry ...

not sure if it's a current quarry for aggregate or being opened up for landfill or if it was landfill and now being restored!
Application for inert waste

I think this must be the water table

We're following Sue's map thingy on her phone and she checked the direction we should take here at the junction ...

this way! ...
(Sue asked if I could see her ears sticking out from under her hat ... I said yes but the hat would fall over your eyes if it wasn't being held up by your ears!)
and then this way ...

Between the gardens and then left ... the dogs know which way to go!

over the road and along Gravel Road Footpath

into the village of Drayton ...
to the pub where we had lunch of Tiger Rolls with tuna and home cooked crisps ... very tasty indeed!
Leaving the Red Lion public house I did a bit of shopping at the local post office/store ...
and it was time to head for home
Meg, Barney and Penny enjoy a refreshing dip in the river ...
and we're back!
Vic and George have been busy cutting and loading some ash for our winter fires and were enjoying a cuppa tea.  It later started to rain so it was baton down the hatches and relax!
Another good day!
