Thursday (9th August) and it's time to move on ...
9:45 and the pins come out ... time to continue downstream ...
but first back up to Abingdon Bridge to see if the Chandlery has had its delivery of gas bottles ... but hang on ... we know that boat ...
well, what a surprise ... we didn't expect to see them today!
We had a quick chat mid-channel and made a cunning plan ...
Abingdon Meadow was chock-a-block with moored boats ...
but there was no-one moored outside the chandlery ... there was no gas bottles either ... again! We turned round and headed back whence we came ...
and there they were in our very recently vacated mooring spot!
and we came alongside and moored up once again.
That's the beauty of being retired and able to do whatever we want when we want. We can change our minds in an instant if we want to ... we are sooooo lucky!
After a cuppa and a quick catch-up we settled down ... 'till later ... a bbq is planned ...
George had the bbq under way and we're all sat out on the grass with wine ... when ...
the sky went a bit dark ...
and the rain came ... torrential rain ... did that deter him?
definitely not ... out came the umbrella and George carried on ...
'what rain?'
We ate alfresco ... well sort of ... on the deck of Still Rockin' ...
both satellite dishes up recording favourite programmes as the sky clears.
20:15 and the light is magical
You can't beat that!
What a brilliant day it was ... and all the better for being a surprise meeting of boating friends.
