Back to where we started

We're still at Castle Cliffe House, Hereford and Saturday (7th) was going to be another hot one ...
taken from the bedroom window at the front of the property we can see the rooftops of Castle House Hotel across the park ...
and from the lounge window at the rear ...
over the River Wye below ...
reached by steps through the garden ...
down these steps from the kitchen
Looking up at the house
The water level of the River Wye is very low, like many rivers and canals in the UK currently
There are great river views from the bottom of the garden

it's 9:30 in the morning.
Life on the riverbank ...

We're leaving Hereford today and spent the morning in town looking round the shops after which we made our way to the Cafe of All Saints to meet up with longtime Friends Andy and Jennifer
All Saints Church built in the early 13th century and rebuilt after earthquake (probably) damage in 1330 the church is as long as it's wide, has an unusually high roof and a slender twisted spire.
The church closed in 1996 for a massive restoration transforming it into a multi-use space including the very popular cafe where we had lunch upstairs.

The church is still consecrated and regular services are held each Sunday when the cafe is closed.

So it was back to where we started last last Thursday lunchtime having lunch with our friends before picking up the car and heading home to Still Rockin'. We've had a fantastic two days with great friends, thank you for having us Jen and Andy.

... Back at Abingdon ... more friends are waiting ...
