before all the locks we shall do tomorrow
Seen this morning working boat Clover No. 332 built in 1935 probably returning from the Rickmansworth Boat Festival
before we went for a walk ...
From the bridge here over the Grand Union I can just make out Still Rockin' at the furthest mooring on the right as we approach ...
the Slough Arm
Crossing the aqueduct over Fray's River
It was so very peaceful along here
I spy a heron as we walk ...
but he's not hanging about!
The next aqueduct crosses the River Colne
and we can now see and hear the M25 in the distance
We passed three WWII pill boxes as we walked
and an original Fiat 500 but not in great condition!
Over another aqueduct, this time over Colne Brook which leads into Farlows Fishing Lake
We continued to walk to the M25 where we turned for home ...
Fire Armsarea ... Live Rounds!
In every brood we see there's always one that won't keep up ...
although Mr and Mrs Coot managed to get all seven back together ...
but it wasn't a happy ending; we saw the group a few hours later but there were only two chicks left ... so, so, sad, they couldn't have been more a day or so old.
Early night tonight, it'll be a long day tomorrow.
