Now the work begins ...

Blacking the hull ...
George is pleased with the state of Still Rockin's hull ... no serious pitting ... in fact just as it should be after only five years of being in water
We've masked off the gunwales ... every thing below the tape will be blacked with bitumen
Ready for action in my pink wellies and XL white suit!
A couple of scrapes on the bow that need treating before painting
Up and down the ladder to bring the bitumen, rollers etc.,
 Before ...
 and after ...
the first coat.

Oooh good luck! Don't work too hard! It will come back to bite you in your muscles :) It's great the the hull is in good condition, so that's a big relief, isn't it? I'll look forward to seeing a smart and refreshed Still Rockin soon!

Thanks Val, I have to admit that shoulder muscles are a tad strained at the moment with winding sluices and opening gates as well as painting, but it's all in a good cause and then we can be back on the Thames again!
