Still heading downstream

7:45 on Wednesday (10th October) a Heron looking for breakfast opposite our mooring at Hampton Court Palace

Two hours later we're pulling away from the moorings in the already warm sunshine heading once again downstream

Energetic in the sun and passing Ravens Ait (Island) on the right-hand side for a change

Approaching our destination, Kingston-on-Thames hoping there will be space for us ...

if not we can stop on the other side for 24-hours
Half an hour after leaving Hampton Court we're moored up again
It's only just after 10 and it's hot
great surroundings

After settling in we walked into town, I've a special purchase to collect ... a Dry:Soon electric clothes dryer from Lakeland.  It uses a fraction of electricity that a tumble dryer does, it takes up little space and will be ideal for for the winter months rather than having wet washing draped over radiators for hours, days on end.  I've used it just once so far and am pleased with the results.

Time to relax on the back deck when we return to Still Rockin' ... the temperature is 24°c!

busy river

Historic Narrowboats Nuneaton paired with butty Brighton (unpowered) both owned by The Narrow Boat Trust going downstream to Teddington and the Tidal Thames

5pm and the sun starts to go down over the river

Mission accomplished ... we'll be on our way again in the morning.

That clothes airer looks like a good idea.

We have been considering getting a washer dryer for at home as we currently end up with clothes sat on clothes horses for a couple of days. We don't have room for a separate washer and dryer.

This could well be the answer if it speeds up the drying process. You will have to let us know how you get on with it.
