Back to Windsor

After a quiet weekend, on Tuesday (2nd October) we returned to Windsor ...
leaving Paul, all alone, on Newlands, we left Runnymede and turned upstream once more ...
seen as we cruised past the royal Windsor estate ...
below the great castle ...
with glimpses of autumn ...
and Eton College church ...
we eventually arrive at Romney Lock where there were problems ...
the hydraulics on the top gates are intermittently not working and the lockie was hand winding them closed before he could fill the lock so that we could enter.  Fortunately the bottom gates were working fine and the top ones good to go too by the time we'd ascended ... and now there were three lockies on duty!

Not a bad mooring on Baths Island at Windsor ...

and the weather is still good with stunning sunsets.

We had people to see and places to go .... and once all that was done, on Thursday (4th) we treated ourselves to a meal out.

Walking along the river towards Windsor Bridge we saw ...
this gorgeous bunny ... he was so friendly ... I'm sure he wanted to be picked up and cuddled!
As you can see he is tethered by a lead and belongs I think to the chap who was 'camping out' on the grass verge.  I hoped he wasn't going to be there all night ... he wasn't there on our return so hopefully he was tucked up nice and warm with his owner.

We had fantastically delicious, tender steaks ..
at Cote Brasserie followed by mouth watering desserts ... heaven!
Windsor Castle from the bridge,
not the best picture from my iPhone 5.

We'll be on the move again in the morning.
