That’s what today’s been like … just the tops!
Leaving Medmenham Meadow this morning
It’s half past eight and the sun in breaking through already
Approaching Temple Lock the second of the day
Bisham Abbey and All Saints Church
Moorings here!
A sneaky look through the window!
Coming into Marlow ...
Looking towards Marlow from SR's rear deck at the lock … it
is unusual as the landing stands detached from the lock itself making it awkward to use if on self service going downstream, fortunately a lock-keeper was on duty today
Leaving the town behind
View as we leave Marlow lock cutting
Bourne End
Moorings here too!
Turning into the lock cut at Cookham
Cookham Lock ...
… is also unusual in that it is actually two locks enabling more or less boats to go through at the same time … and there’s George!
The Ovaltine Boat
On our last trip this way a couple of months ago we commented that the roof on this boathouse was badly in need of repair … see below
And yet another of our most favourite moorings on the River Thames … Clivedon House!
National Trust repairs at Clivedon
The Fountain of Love at Clivedon
… and Clivedon House now a hotel
Walking back to Still Rockin’ ...
More detail of this view over the river in the pictures below ...
Some lucky child is getting a very posh treehouse!
Lovely buildings, looks like some sort of ‘Centre'
Tree fungus
Lucky snap of a muntjac deer
Our view today … marvellous!
The weather has been warm and sunny, the cruise has been delightful, our mooring is superb and our walk very satisfying … all-in-all it’s been just the tops!

Great pics. We will revisit this post.
Currently at Teddington lock moorings at midnight and NOT looking forward to an early start to head onto the tideway at 7am.
Sadly this marks the end of our Thames navigation for 2016. As usual it's been a privilege and we feel sadness to leave.
One week on the GU to get back to our home mooring and then more concentration on the day job for both Carole and Me :)
Enjoy your winter mooring.
Best
Carole and Paul
Don’t work too hard! Hope to meet Carole sometime next year then? Best wishes.
