Sunday ...
... he came to cut the grass in on the meadow at Cleeve
... and as expected the Red Kites came too.
At one point we counted 17 of them all looking for a juicy meal
Early afternoon Maffi arrived and breasted up ...
we had dinner alfresco ... George is riveted by Maffi's stories (!?)
... and wherever Maffi is, lovely Molly is always close by
We were watching the sunset waiting for the owl to appear but were disappointed, perhaps it was because there was no sport in the field now that the grass was cut.
Monday mid-morning Maffi untied and set off towards the lock
... we winded and followed but stopped at the water point to refill the tank
... and once finished went through Cleeve lock and past the small weir
... and close by this pretty setting - is that a lock in the centre of the picture?
... no, it's two concrete piers holding up the footbridge.
We continued through Grove Lock to the visitors moorings where Maffi had tied up and surprise, surprise ...
Nicky and Keith were just pulling in too, although they were not so wrapped up in warm clothes! (photo pinched from fb)
... with their two Vizslas
It was really good to meet up with them again.
Maffi, Nicky and Keith together with Molly, Binks and Benjy came onboard for cuppas and a catchup and later we all went to the John Barleycorn for our evening meal.
Good food, good company and a good time.
