A great day

Thank you all for your birthday wishes today.

George and I treated ourselves last night to a pre-birthday Chinese take-a-way and I have to say it was the best we’d ever tasted.  So if you’re stopping in the Berkhamsted area ‘Lots of Rice in Holliday Street (near The Boat pub) is well worth the visit.

And this morning after a cuppa in bed and opening my presents we readied Still Rockin’ and pulled the pins from our mooring at Port Berkhamsted.
Still Rockin’ just pulling out as a single handed pair of boats came down the lock and cruised past.
Once up through Berkhamsted Lock we pulled over for water and to get rid of the accumulated rubbish.

We had help at the two Gas Locks, a lovely family here on holiday from New Zealanders, mum, son and daughter visiting Granny. They were all very helpful in opening and closing the lock gates with George and the children enjoyed the ride out of lock two, into lock one, the rise up in the lock to rejoin their mum and gran.  We hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in England and have a wonderful Christmas with your cousins.

Me waiting again for Still Rockin' to arrive at Dudswell Lock
 Goodness me! Catkins!

Now moored below Cow Roast Lock.
It’s been a good day so far, but it’s not over yet - George is cooking me a lovely meal this evening …
Menu
Mushroom and Medeira Soup
Salmon Medallions with roasted garlic and lemon stuffing
Cheesy Cabbage
Rosemary Potoatoes
Strawberry and Prosecco Suffles
A great meal, a great day and a great photo
(all the better for being a bit blurred!)
