Windsor railway bridge in all its renovated splendour as we leave our mooring on Thursday morning
Piling is being replaced and backfilled on the narrower strip of Baths Island, the moorings here have needed this work for quite a number of years
Approaching Windsor Bridge through which I can see the luxury hotel boat Magna Carta
As we approach Romney Lock I notice an Archimedes Screw through this footbridge - I must look at that again next year when we come this way
Lots of mistletoe for lots of kisses as we cruise past Home Farm towards Victoria Bridge with its royal insignia
... and the last glimpse for this year of the castle as we approach Albert Bridge
Cormorants and a Heron enjoying the warm sunshine
... and beautiful autumn colours
... as we reach Old Windsor Lock Cut Bridge
Once through the lock we need to manoeuvre past this work boat and out onto Runneymead Reach (stretch of water between locks on a river)
Passing French Brothers trip boats
... and opposite are steam boats Nuneham, Lucy Fischer and a ‘project'
River Thames at its best!
Lovely property on Magna Carta Island
The Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial stands at the top of Cooper’s Hill.
We pulled in to moor just below the memorial in a very favourite place at about mid-day when the temperature had reached an astounding 23 degrees.
The only negative about mooring here is the severe lack of phone signal!
We decided to stay another day, the forecast was supposed to be cloudy but the sun came out and the weather station was recording 30 degrees on the roof at 1:30 in the afternoon - on the last day of October you really couldn’t ask for anything better!
