After the sale of Still Rockin' (click here) early in 2021 we arranged to visit the new owners to talk them through the various equipment onboard, satellite dish, water filtration system, engine service, etc.. Unfortunately, due to covid we couldn't arrange a date until mid June but that had to be cancelled the day before the visit because of the exciting news that our granddaughter had given birth to twin girls eight weeks early! The remainder of June and all of July and August were a whirlwind of visiting and being visited by family and a party to celebrate another granddaughter's graduation.
The date was rearranged to visit Debbie and Richard and on Saturday 28th August, very early we set off ...
At 05:40 we set off along the country roads of Cheshire ...
with the sunrise in our eyes ... and arrived at Thames and Kennet Marina in Reading at 09:30 ...
Still Rockin' still looking good!
We spent a lovely few hours with Debbie and Richard, George imparting the information and advice they requested and generally chatting and getting to know each other over lunch.
We wish them both good luck and happy cruising in the years to come and sincerely hope that they stay in touch and invite us back in the not too distant future.
We left them early afternoon and continued our journey ...
A familiar sight to regular blog readers ...
We spent an hour or so catching up with Sue's news and I am pleased to tell you that she is very well but a little bored at being moored up for so long in one place, but happy to be safe and well with friends close by to support her.
We arrived home just in time (7pm) to see the sun setting at the end of the garden after an exciting but rather long day.
How nice to have met the new owners and be able to spend a bit of time with them. We were glad we got to meet Lillian's new owners.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of your family.

Thanks for your comment Pip and Mick.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, Carol! All good news. I must have missed the announcement that you’d sold Still Rockin’. Congratulations! And congratulations too on the birth of another grandchild! I’m so pleased you had a lovely meeting with SR’s new owners too, and that Sue is keeping well. Lovely to read all this, in fact!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments Val. It was our granddaughter who gave birth - to twin girls - making us great-grandparents! Hope that you manage to get out faring this week, if you're not working, as the weather here at least is going to be sunny and rather warm - for a change!
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy day you had, Carol and George, but a very happy one. We have met the new owners of Tentatrice and are still in email contact and may well meet up with them again. It is good to know that our boats are being well looked after isn't it. Congratulations on the arrival of your little great granddaughters. Good to see Sue looking well. Jennie x
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Jennie. Yes it is good to know that our boats are going to continue to be looked after as we did. Hope everything is ok with you and Chris. x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous babies, I am a bit envious of the new owners of Still Rockin'.
