An unusual visitor to the feeders ...

and as in many places across the south of the UK came the snow...
These were the views around Still Rockin' yesterday morning (1st February) at 7:30 ...

 Very pretty!

So to the bird feeders ..

Usually a very shy bird, it would be most unusual to see a Jay
in the garden, let alone feeding from the coconut shell which contains my home made 'fat ball' mixture.

Two lovely sightings in one day ... what more could I need!

  1. Hi Carol
Thought I'd let you know I've started to use Visual Watermark on my photos.
    https://www.visualwatermark.com
You can do a free trial for a month, then if you like it it's a one off payment (£15ish) which I'm considering doing. It says it's available for PC and Mac, you can do a batch of images all in one go and it saves your watermark to use next time. It's the only program I've come across so far that is user friendly.
Enjoy your snow, it tried three times yesterday with us, but didn't succeed.
You must be starting to pack now for your trip, have a great time.

  2. Thanks Pip, I'll keep that in mind but won't start it until we get back mid-March!
I think/certainly hope that we've managed to get everything we want to take with us together now and will actually pack on Tuesday and Wednesday as we don't leave for Heathrow until 5pm.

  3. Oh how lovely to see a Jay! Beautiful! I must say your snowy surroundings look very chilly. I'm glad our snow has gone!

  4. The snow has has nearly gone here too Val but the temperature last night dropped to -7 so it will be very icy on the pavements today.
