Cheerio ...

to Beale Park
Leaving one of our very favourite moorings on the Thames on Wednesday (5th) for the last time this year as summer turns to autumn
Continuing our cruising downstream as we did with Kenny and Jude on Saturday
A last look back ... have I said how much we love this reach?
Grade II listed Victorian 'Bankside' overlooking the Thames is for sale (click the link)
We're soon approaching and through Whitchurch Lock ...
and bridge ... much quieter today
Looking back again
Hardwick House has been in the Rose family since 1909 and is currently the home of Sir Julian Rose, 4th Baronet
Don't ask ... I don't know! See-saw Marjorie Daw?
Cormorants
Views around Mapledurham
while the services
were used
There's a group of what I call community boats settled along the bank here and I assume not with permission from the landowner

and where the African Queen trip/hotel boat is based

and where we stayed to munching our lunch while the lock was busy ... bacon and mushroom baps from the River Cafe here ... mmmmm!
All paired up!
Reading where you automatically agree to pay a mooring cost of £100 if you step off your boat, let alone moor up!
Reading Bridge, keeping right for the lock
And joy of joys our mooring at Sonning is available.

Lots of cheerios along our cruising today ... until 2019 that is ... when we'll do it all again ... can't think of anything better!
