No idea what the storms were called but it's been very windy here near Windsor since Monday night. On Wednesday the boat moored behind the boat behind us had moved when we got back from buying the eggs and to prevent Still Rockin's base plate scraping against the concrete/stone any more we moved back ...
much quieter now except that our bow sticks out about 12' due to a curve along the wharf.
On Thursday (20th) I woke up with a horrible sore throat and a rotten cold and we decided that it wouldn't be a good idea to move from Dorney tomorrow as planned as apart from me not feeling well, the weather forecast was for winds in excess of 70 kph.
8 am Friday morning a beautiful sky and lumpy water ...
but at least the sun was shining although the outside temperature was only 10°c!
Last night's forecast was correct and Still Rockin' was certainly not still and was definitely rocking by Friday lunch time! The wind had changed direction slightly and was blowing down the side of us ... remember that our bow is just slightly sticking out ... and the mooring ropes creaking on the cleats was driving us mad! WD40 soon sorted that out! Still suffering but not one to sit and dwell I decided to replant the round flower pot on the deck with the warm sun on my back.
The last of the sun on the Thames at 6 pm last night ...
and fiery through the trees at 7 pm ...
shining on the clouds opposite our mooring
At 8 pm the swan family came a-knocking ... parents and seven kids!
