A very short cruise ...

In no rush this morning (Monday 20th) so we didn't leave Wallingford until 10:15 continuing downstream through the bridge ...
The horses are back together and the camp is still there on the meadow

250' of riverside mooring in Crowmarsh Gifford near Wallingford see here for details

10 to 10 and we can see an ideal wild mooring
 Good views down river ...
 and over the fields ...
 towards Moulsford Railway Bridge ...
and across the river over the trees we have a glimpse of Fair Mile Hospital built in 1870 as the Lunatic Asylum for Berkshire and closed as recently as 2003 (click on the link above for an interesting read). The building has now been developed into luxury apartments where a 3-bed apartment will cost around £425,000.
Although at times it looked like rain ...
apart from a few drops it stayed dry.

The sun is going down earlier and earlier ...
The last of the rays on the chestnut tree
Hopefully we'll have a quiet night here and may well stay tomorrow and have a wander around the area.
