On Wednesday when Marcus (Marcus Marine Engineer) came to work on Still Rockin' and was talking to George out on the bank, Marcus asked George why he had one lens dark and one light in his specs???
You can see it here. Specsaver's had given him two pairs ... just like this!
Saturday dawned misty once again and saw George hot footing it to Reading from Pangbourne on the train to get his glasses altered to how they should be, one pair clear and one pair with reactor lenses. You may also be able to see in the top picture that he is now wearing a cord to prevent losing the specs in the future ... well that's the plan anyway!
The sun soon burnt the mist from the river
... and after a few rather busy (but lovely) days
... over the last week or so
... we spent Saturday
... just relaxing
... and watching the world pass us by.
If the cord fails to do the job Carol then can I suggest Super Glue... :) LOL
ReplyDeleteAbout 10 minutes ago Kevin guess what happened .... the cord failed. Got any super glue?
ReplyDeleteHaving lost two pairs of glasses to the murky depths of canals last year Chris invested in a sports strap which seems to do the trick - https://www.amazon.co.uk/TRIXES-Sunglasses-Neoprene-Stretchy-Spectacle/dp/B009AS1H4G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504631132&sr=8-1&keywords=sports+glasses+straps. Chris got his from Decathlon, but the link shows the sort of thing I am talking about. Jennie
ReplyDeleteHi Jennie, thanks for the tip. George brought some of these Jennie but the type of specs he has are not suitable, they have very thin metal arms on them which are too thin to stay in the stretchy casing of the strap.
