Last couple of days at Medmenham and disaster!

Seen on Tuesday 15th what I thought would be an old working boat but unfortunately not on the Historic Narrow Boat Club register.  I believe this to be the owner Duncan Davis steering.

Also on Tuesday this is George deep sea searching with the magnet ... he's looking for his specs ... the second and last pair that he owns are now resting somewhere in the River Thames!   That's 2 pairs in 7 weeks and he can't see much without them!  Disaster!
I've managed to get an opticians appointment for Wednesday afternoon in Reading.
Not long after Sue and Andy slowed down for a quick catch-up, they're on a bit of a deadline, places to go, people to see.  We hope to catch up with them properly soon.
We've had a real mixture of weather here too with quite a lot of rain but some warm sunshine too with chilly nights which often resulted in fine sunsets.

  1. Ha, I did the very same thing yesterday George. "Tighten that back rope" was the cry. I was doing something on the computer at the time and not thinking went straight out, reached down to the stupid dolly at the stern and "plop" in they went!

Thank goodness I have another pair and have ordered some more from Glasses Direct which should arrive quite quickly. I just need to order online and fill in my prescription.

  2. Perhaps George should think about buying some of these...

  3. George is now wearing Boots £18 specs that just magnify. He's managing ok but says everything looks soooo big! He should get his new ones in 2 weeks.

  5. Sheena bought me a nice string for my reading glasses. but sadly, I did not get on with it as it made me feel like a geography teacher.

  6. Know how you felt Ken, we both had those strings when we started boating but it didn't last long before we stopped using them.
