Ready, steady .... go!

Saturday 7th May, Windsor ...

22 Canada Goslings!

Out walking towards Clewer Village (Clewer was the original name for Windsor) where we pass the creek where the trip boats are moored when not in use

Looking up the creek are houseboats and some rather nice wooden boats under wraps

We visited St Andrew's Church, Clewer

... where the original foundations date back to 1030/40 and consisted of only the South Aisle

Most of the church is built of chalk probably taken from the chalk hill on which now stands Windsor Castle.  Until the 13th century that same hill belonged to the Knight of Clewer from whom, so the story goes, it was stolen by King John and was never returned!
