9:30 yesterday morning we pulled the pins at Windsor and set sail again downstream
… saying au revoir to lots of favourite places on the River Thames as we make our way to Teddington and onto the Grand Union Canal
This is the ‘other’ side of the picture taken as we approach Romney Lock
For the non-boating readers - a fairly typical Thames Lock operation used by the lock keeper when on duty and boat crews when on self-service
Still Rockin’ coming into Romney
Boats passing through the lock didn’t concern this heron at all!
We knew that there was a boat waiting to enter the lock whilst we were descending but I don’t think this guy realised that we were a wide beam and consequently we had to wait while he got out of the way as he was blocking our exit!
Victoria Bridge
Eton College Chapel across Home Park
A bit close!
The last glimpse of the castle for this year
Albert Bridge
Autumn colours as we enter 'New Lock Cut’ to Old Windsor Lock
and where this heron on his island in the middle of the weir makes a good picture
Copper Beech trees on the lockside
Passing the Magna Carta Memorial
and looking up Coopers Hill to the Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial as we approach another of our favourite moorings at Runnymede.
