Still Rockin's Maiden voyage!

All of 300 yards, and we’re free!
05:30 this morning to avoid the traffic ...
 ... he’s doing ok ...
 ... a bit tight ...
 ... but no problem!
 Approaching the bridge ...
... and onto the Grand Union Canal ...

... turning in to moor on the visitor moorings ...
 ... beautifully done ...
Not the only one making an early start (Auriga Fuel Boat)

All moored up!

We (well ‘I’ to be exact as George will be operating the locks) will make the journey up Braunston 6 locks and moor this side of the tunnel by 3pm as arranged with C&RT who will stop boats from entering the tunnel from the other end at 8am on Wednesday morning and our passage will be at 8:30.
Wish me luck on my first baptism of fire steering!

    1. Hi Nev, Thank you, we will enjoy! We’ll be CC’ing for the foreseeable future but may take a winter mooring somewhere.

Carol, I was trying to leave a comment on your new blog but I can't find a profile which lets me just leave my name. I don't have any of the other options - and I don't want them as I already spend too much time on the computer and have too many passwords to remember! So here is the comment I tried to leave; "Congratulations! It does look big compared with Rock 'n' Roll. It must be like living in Buckingham Palace! It has been fascinating reading the build blog and I'm sure that we are all looking forward to reading your cruising blogs again." on Bon Voyage Rock 'n' Roll

    1. Hi Graham, are you Graham Budd nb Matilda Rose?
Whoever you are, thank you for your comments.
I’m not sure what you need to leave a comment on this blog as it’s set up in the same way as the Rock n Roll blog.

  4. Hiya both
Good to see you're on the move, even if it was only 300 yards! SR looks beautiful on the water, doesn't she! I hope you're not going to make a habit of the 05:30 starts, though. Molly will not approve.
Good luck up the locks tomorrow and the tunnel on Wednesday. Try not to scratch that fine finish! Thinking of you.

    1. We’re leaving going up the locks until this evening and have been given permission from C&RT to moor for the night on the tunnel landing - hope there’s a space!

  5. Good grief!

This is going to be a bit of a learning curve for you both I can see!

I have not been reading the blogs of late, but now catching up.. Wonderful, wonderful your dreams come true.

You will so enjoy the tunnel on Wednesday, what power to have it all to yourselves.

My biggest fear in tunnels is to meet a wide beam in there... I am glad CRT will be on duty for you and everybody else.

See you soon.. I know know we will!

    xx

    1. Hi Sue,
Yes, that learning curve is going to be steep and for me that’ll be this afternoon! George says that she handles very well, is very responsive, I have a mantra - Stay Calm, Stay Calm!! let’s hope it works!
Really looking forward to seeing you both, love to Vic too. xx

Do you have George fitted with a tag so that you can find him on the boat?? LOL
    Happy cruising :)
