Sunsets are arriving earlier and earlier ... this one Saturday (7th) at
8 o'clock from our mooring at Runnymede
Sunday dawned bright and cold again ... and ...
just before 9 o'clock all hell seemed to be breaking loose outside on the A308 ...
lorries ...
at least 50 of them ...
some beautifully decorated ...
with a police escort ...
travelling ...
very slowly ...
with a few cars in between ...
with no hope of overtaking.
Looking upriver we can see them ...
at the traffic lights
They just kept coming!
I've no idea what it was all about ...
and they're still coming!
We're not the only ones watching
1952 starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, filmed in Ireland.
The slow procession continued until 9:15 but we could still hear them ... until half an hour later they started to return after presumably negotiating Egham roundabout.

The lorries returned up the A308 slightly quicker and all was peaceful again.
I spent the day catching up with jobs ... changed the bed and put on the winter duvet and the brushed cotton sheets as we were cold again last night, and of course doing the laundry too. George started on the wooden window frames which need sanding and varnishing to stop the winter's condensation seeping into the joints.
No two sunsets are the same ... this is Sunday's at 7:30.
