Writ in Water

There's a new installation at Runnymede, it wasn't finished when we moored here last earlier this year in May ...
but it is now so we walked over the field on Friday (Sept 28th) ...
... this stone building is it ... not very inspiring is it ...

but inside ...
it certainly is!
It has no doors so open 24/7 and is open to the sky.
Consisting of a pool of water as the artist Mark Wallinger says: "...Writ in Water, the use of the reflection to make the text legible plays against the idea of a law written in stone"
As you walk around the pool you are able to read the reflection taken from the Magna Carta clause 39.

This would be a lovely place to sit in silence for contemplation.
Well worth a visit.
Walking home passing the Magna Carta Monument ...
we continue our walk home down the busy river ...
where over the road we can see Writ in Stone and the Air Forces Memorial at the top of Coopers Hill.
A stunning view!
