He’s still there

Leaving Bourne End and the closed Bounty pub on Thursday
… and we’re soon approaching the unusual footbridge at

… Cookham Lock which is also unusual in that it is actually two locks, we would have fitted into the furthest one with the Lock Keeper closing the middle gates but he let us down using both as one.
Clivedon Deep and passing some of the National Trust holiday cottages
… and where I looked back at my favourite River Thames View - Clivedon House high on the hill, and just look at that fantastic blue sky.  This is the first Thames trip we’ve made that we’ve not managed to fit in a couple of day mooring here.  Never mind it will still be here next summer.

Yes!  He’s still there sunning himself on the approach to Boulter’s Lock.  I’ve always been so engrossed looking out for the gentleman in his chair that I’d not noticed this blue plaque  on the building before.

Boulter’s Lock bridge
… above which hangs this huge triffid Brugmansia (Angels Trumpet)

After cruising past the huge riverside mansions of Maidenhead we eventually moored up at Dorney (where the 2012 Olympic rowing took place).  Early in the morning we’re expecting Marcus the Beta engineer to be with us to complete the fixes on Still Rockin’s engine.
